Other things you can practise at home are:

  • reading and writing numbers to 100 in digits and in words (CHALLENGE: Write an addition or subtraction word problem using two 2-digit numbers and solve it!)
  • telling the time to the hour, half hour and quarter of an hour (CHALLENGE: Tell time to the nearest 5 minutes)
  • counting, adding and subtracting money using coins or notes (CHALLENGE: Make the SAME amount of money with DIFFERENT coins or notes)
  • recognising 2D and 3D shapes around the home, or when out doing your daily exercise
  • measuring in grams or kilograms if you are helping to do any cooking or baking 
  • practise your 2, 5 and 10 times tables (CHALLENGE: learn your 3 and 4 times tables too!)
