We have ten partridge eggs in school this week as part of a conservation project. We are hoping they will hatch and that the chicks will be able to be released into the wild to increase the number of grey partridges.
Update Thursday morning - the first egg has hatched.
Update Saturday - we have three grey partridge chicks and they have all transferred to the brooding cage. They have learnt how to find their food and how to drink water. They are still spending most of their time under the brooder, where it is warm, but are venturing out occasionally.
