Preparing resilient learners in an ever changing world
Welcome to Vittoria Primary

Summer Term

It's our last term together in Year 2...and in Key Stage One! Let's make it a fabulous term full of lots of fun and learning. :)

This term our Topic is Wonderful Women. This is a whole School topic with each year group looking at a different Wonderful Woman from History.

Our Wonderful Women are Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. Come and have a chat with anyone in our class if you would like to learn about either of these Wonderful Women. We will be able to tell you lots of interesting facts and explain how these women made a huge impact on our lives today.

Please make sure you are reading at home regularly, we have some really lovely new books so keep an eye out for them in your child's book bag!

Please also practise your 2, 5 and 10 times tables as often as you can :)

Thank you

Miss Robjant

Spring Term

Hello everyone. What a strange start to the Spring Term  this is.

Remote Learning is now something we are growing increasingly familiar with sadly, but let's make it as great as it can be! smiley

The Register is compulsory and unless your child is unwell or there are other circumstances, they must be online for a Google Hangout at 9:15am each morning and 1:15pm each afternoon.

Every day on Google Classroom, there will be a Phonics Lesson, a Maths Lesson, an English Lesson and a SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) Lesson. These will be accompanied by online lessons to explain the work :)

There will also be weekly Topic lessons. Our Topic this Half Term is, Pirates! Continents, Oceans and Poles.

Ms Moore will be doing an Online ICT lesson for Year Two, every Wednesday at 1pm

Our PE coach Rob will also be doing an Online PE session for Year Two, every Wednesday at 2pm.

If you need anything, please feel free to email me at hrobjant1.206@vittorialgfl.org

Stay Safe!

Miss Robjant smiley

  • We change our reading books on  Monday and Thursday
  • Reading records have to be signed every night to let me know that your child has read.  Your child does not have to finish a book each night but still sign each to night to show they have read.   Your child should read with an adult for at least 10 minutes every night.
  • Children who have their reading record signed consistently in a calendar month will receive a Reading Champion sticker!

  • Please can children bring in a bottle of water everyday.   Image result for bottle of water drawing

Autumn Term Plan

Firework Paintings!

We used a range of techniques to create our Firework paintings!

The Great Fire of London 1666

We looked at some artefacts to help us learn more about the Great Fire of London.

We dressed up as if we were helping to put the fire out. We wore leather helmets and carried leather buckets and even a wooden bucket.

Did you know that in 1666, there was no Fire Brigade?

We also dressed up as Samuel Pepys. Samuel Pepys kept a diary during the fire and this has helped us to piece together what happened during those awful days.

Science - Materials

We have been investigating different materials and finding out about their properties.

We have been thinking about which material is suitable for which object and why.

*Wow* Work!
