Reading records

All children starting in Early Years will be provided with a book bag and reading record. These should be brought to school everyday.

Each week children in Reception will bring home one book of choice as well as a phonics book. These will be changed every Monday.

It is important that both books are read everyday and that reading records are signed.

P.E

Waterloo class has P.E every Wednesday.

From January, please ensure that your child comes into school wearing the correct P.E. kit on Wednesday. This should include a white P.E. t-shirt, school jumper, tracksuit bottoms or shorts and trainers.

Forest School

Every Wednesday morning, Waterloo Class have Forest School. This happens regardless of the weather so please ensure your child comes to school with appropriate clothing and footwear.

Parent Partnership

In Early Years, we value our partnership with you as a parent or carer. To support this we use the following, alongside our day to day conversations with you:

  • Tapestry - This is an online platform that allows children’s learning to be shared between home and school using pictures and videos. We can support you to set this up on your own device so that you are able to share learning too!
  • Dojo - Children are rewarded with Dojo points when they are spotted showing one of our five school values. Once they reach ten, we celebrate! As parents and carers, you are able to view your child’s Dojo account to see their progress.
  • Family Reading Mornings - Every month we invite you into school to share books and stories with your children. Look out for the next date in our school newsletter
